I founded Turning Point Fitness in 2007 with just three Pilates mat classes a week, renting space in a local dance studio. Today, that same space is now a full-service Pilates studio offering 14 classes a week, a full schedule of private clients, an online Pilates library subscription, and a comprehensive mat training program, “Magic of the Mat.”

I built my business while raising my two sons—launching Turning Point Fitness when my first was just two years old and I was expecting my second. I know firsthand what it takes to turn a passion into a thriving business, and I believe you can do it too.

Meet Lisa

Owning a business wasn’t always my dream—but looking back, I suppose it was in my blood. My grandfather was a small business owner, and both of my parents successfully ran their own businesses. That entrepreneurial spirit shaped me, even when I didn’t realize it.

As a little girl, I dreamed of being a dancer. What little girl doesn’t? I trained rigorously from the age of four through college, but I also had other dreams—traveling the world and working for The Walt Disney Company. With a degree in Hospitality Management from The Ohio State University, I made those dreams a reality. I interned at Walt Disney World, worked in hotel operations, and traveled the globe training teams at luxury resorts. Through those experiences, I developed invaluable business and interpersonal skills—skills that, years later, helped me build a business of my own.

Remember that little girl with the dream of dancing? While I didn’t become a professional dancer, I found my way into teaching fitness classes, got my personal training certificates and then found Pilates. The connection from dance to Pilates just made sense.  

As Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” One little spark is all it takes to turn a dream into something real.

My Experience Includes:
